The mission of Long Beach Volleyball Club (LBVC), is to provide elite level training opportunities for youth athletes in Long Beach and surrounding areas, as well as, mentor and develop young individuals through the sport of volleyball. LBVC is committed to using the most modern, effective, and positive teaching methods to develop our athletes. Our coaching staff is dedicated to delivering the best club experience to our athletes and families.
Our coaches are IMPACT certified and are active member of USAV. We are always looking for quality youth coaches who desire to give back to the game of volleyball and to give back to kids in our community. Volleyball experience, time dedication, character and integrity are a must.

Long Beach Volleyball Club operates in Long Beach. Unlike other clubs in the area, LBVC has no connections to any Long Beach Unified High Schools therefore we can guarantee that all of our athletes are treated fairly (no connections = no favorites). Our connection is to the reigning State Champions, the Long Beach City College Men’s Volleyball Team. Jonathan Charette, our Owner and Director of Coaching Development, is the Head Coach and the reigning Century Club College Coach of the Year. Charette is a product of Long Beach City College where he’s won five State Titles - one as a Player, one as an Assistant Coach, and three as the Head Coach. While his accolades as a player and coach often go unmentioned, Charette’s secret to success is his methodical approach to training using a set of data-driven principles to provide structure for our style of volleyball. These principles drive Long Beach City College’s success and these principles lay the foundation for all of Long Beach Volleyball Club’s youth programs.
Join us and allow your athlete to train in an environment that transfers to the game. You’ll see that our practices are active, interactive, task-specific, and engaging. Our coaches provide structure and positive feedback while our drills are designed to model game-like scenarios allowing for just the right amount of variability that the game of volleyball is sure to provide. We aim to minimize idleness during practice so that our athletes are maximizing their court time. We want to share the secret to Charette’s success and pass on our knowledge to the next generation of Long Beach athletes. Help us maintain and improve upon the reputation of Long Beach (the city) being a hot bed for volleyball talent. Help us unify our community of Long Beach by implementing the volleyball principles of Effective Communication, Proper Preparation, Team Work, and Grit the intangibles necessary for a successful team and a successful community.
